Christmas comments & Christmas carols

Thursday, November 29, 2007
Can you think about Christmas without the jingles and Christmas carols? No way. Christmas songs are an integral part of the festivity and without playing the evergreen "Jingle Bells" or "Frosty the Snowman" and other carols the festival remains incomplete. Here are some Myspace Christmas comments spreading the message of joy, love and harmony.

Now being a movie buff myself no one can guide him in selecting the movies other than me. Hehe... So I gave him a list of top ten movies on Christmas. Of course, others may differ on it, but I am pretty sure that most of the films are considered by masses and classes as all time classics It's upto him how he can get the DVDs of all of them. Here they are:

A Christmas Carol (1984 version)
Miracle on 34th Street

Home Alone
It’s A Wonderful Life

Animated Favorites

Christmas Recipes

Wednesday, November 14, 2007
Don't you love eggnog? Well, I love it and so do many of you. I have collected some recipes for making delicious eggnog on Christmas. I haven't tried all of them but I bet they all will be yummy. Here are few:

Spicy Apple Eggnog

Ingredients
3 cups milk, 2 eggs, beaten, 2 cups light cream, 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon,1/3 c. sugar, salt,3/4 cup apple brandy.

Preparation
In a saucepan eggs, milk, cream, sugar, cinnamon and salt are combined. It should be cooked and stirred over medium heat until slightly thickened and thoroughly heated. Do not boil. After removing from heat, stir in brandy. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Serve hot.

Puerto Rican Eggnog

Ingredients
1 cup sweetened condensed milk, 1 cup evaporated milk, 1 cup coconut milk, 1 cup white rum, or 1 cup water, 3 cinnamon sticks, 4 egg yolks, well beaten ground cinnamon for garnish.

Preparation
All of the milks and the rum are combined in a blender or a food processor. Set aside. Water is boiled with the cinnamon sticks. Cool to room temperature. The cinnamon sticks are discarded.
Combine all of the ingredients except the ground cinnamon and beat well in a blender or food processor in batches. Pour the eggnog into glass bottles and refrigerate until ready to use. To serve, transfer the eggnog to a punch bowl and sprinkle the cinnamon on top.

You can even try them on the coming Thanksgiving if you want to divert from the traditional thanksgiving menu.

Missing you in Christmas

Wednesday, November 7, 2007
Will you miss anyone in this Christmas? Is there any special person or any near one whom you can't meet during the holidays? Well, I can understand the pain as I am going to miss one of my closest friend. Now he is in Greece with his family and I just got the news that he is not coming to NY this year. But in today's world, when there is net, mobile, web-cam, it is not difficult to get in touch with the loved ones, even if they are far away.

Christmas Recipes

Monday, November 5, 2007
During the Christmas, be prepared for those unexpected guests who is at your door after a long time to wish you Christmas. Just keep a few things in stock so that you can make some yummy snacks and drinks within minutes to serve them. I got some recipes of delicious Christmas cheese ball and Christmas punch that are easy to made. If you love burgers, then surprise your guests with the new kind of Japanese burger Tofu Burger . Just as cheese is made from milk, Tofu is made by coagulating Soy milk and pressing the resulting curds into blocks.
So start practicing and experimenting with the recipes to have a delicious Christmas.

Jingle Bells - the Classic Christmas song!

Friday, November 2, 2007
Do you know the history of the timeless classic Christmas song 'Jingle Bells?' Well, the song was written by James Lord Pierpont (1822-1893) for Thanksgiving service and it was first sung in 1857 in a church in Savannah, Georgia. It was so much liked by everyone that again it was played during the Christmas time. Isn't it ironical that a song in which no mention of Christmas is made has become the universal Christmas song? I found a karaoke of this ageless classic song.

What do elves learn in school? Or who delivers the cat's Christmas presents? On Christmas day, puzzle your friends with these funny riddles and make everyone laugh heartily by telling some awesome Christmas Jokes. There are a few of them at Santa's Net

Christmas is the time when people put so many bulbs on the outside of their houses, you don't know if they're celebrating the birth of Jesus or General Electric.

Christmas is a time when people get emotional over family ties, particularly if they have to wear them.

I remember my dad was shopping in a toy store. He said, "That's a terrific train set. I'll buy it."
The Clerk said, "Great, I'm sure your son will love it."
Dad said, "Maybe you're right. I'll take two."

Q: Why does Santa wear pink underwear?
A: He's a man. He did all his laundry in the one load.

What do you call Santa's Helpers?
A: Subordinate Clauses.

Q: Why did Santa Claus take his Christmas tree to the dentist?
A: To get a root canal!
